Paris, July 29: Former Head Coach of Team India Rahul Dravid, who guided Rohit Sharma and Co to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29, 2024, has expressed his delight on the possibility of cricket being included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Dravid revealed how the Indian dressing room was also excited about the move to include cricket in Olympics 2028. It would be "truly phenomenal", he shared his excitement of such a possibility.
Dravid also shared his childhood memories of being glued to the TV during Olympics. The cricket legend revealed, how he grew up watching Carl Lewis setting the Olympics tracks on fire with his dominance in the sprint events and clinching Gold medals.
The former India captain and ex Head Coach also revealed that the passion for cricket in the USA is very encouraging. He stated he noticed the craze for cricket in America, during the recent T20 World Cup, which was jointly hosted by the USA and the West Indies.
Dravid shared his thoughts during a panel discussion organised by Dream Sports, titled 'Cricket at the Olympics - Dawn of a new Era', at the first ever India House at the ongoing Paris Olympics.
