Bhubaneswar, July 25: The Odisha Budget, presented by the BJP government is the double disappointment of the double engine government, stated Leader of Opposition(LoP) Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.
Interacting with the media persons following the first budget of the Mohan Majhi-led Odisha government was presented today, Patnaik said, at least 40 schemes rolled out by the BJD government have been rebranded with mere modifications of the allocations provided for them.
Similarly, Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati said that there is nothing new in this budget. The budgetary provisions bear nothing for the women and farmers’ welfare. They have just increased 10-20% of the past provisions for the existing schemes.
The BJP government has renamed as many as 42 schemes launched by the previous BJD government with no new schemes. They have betrayed and disappointed the people completely, Bahinipati added.
Odisha Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday presented his government’s first state budget in the Odisha Assembly for the financial year 2024-25.
