Bhubaneswar, August 10: Santrupt Misra, political secretary to Odisha’s Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik, recently warned that disrespecting former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik could lead to a situation similar to that in Bangladesh.
Misra’s comments were in response to the removal of Biju Patnaik’s name from various government schemes, including the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).
He emphasized that disrespecting those who have significantly contributed to the nation could have serious consequences, drawing a parallel to the uprooting of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s statue in Bangladesh.
In response, BJP leader Bibhu Tarai criticized Misra’s statement, calling it out of context and inappropriate to compare the situation in Odisha with that of Bangladesh
