New Delhi, November 30: As the Winter session of Parliament begins on Monday, opposition MPs are preparing to raise several critical issues, including the ongoing SIR, equality, income disparities, the Delhi blast, pollution, and foreign policy concerns. Several opposition leaders outlined their priorities for the session in conversations.

RJD MP Manoj Jha criticized the political narrative around elections, stressing the need for discussions on income inequality and the SIR process. He highlighted the role of the Supreme Court in securing public relief and called for more meaningful parliamentary debates.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari expressed concerns over the rushed SIR process and the recent blasts in Delhi, alongside Prime Minister Modi's foreign policy failures and the worsening air pollution in Delhi. Tiwari urged the government to address these issues comprehensively.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stressed the importance of discussing the pressures faced by BLOs during the SIR and the misuse of agencies. She also highlighted issues such as pollution, adulterated food, and electoral reforms.

CPI MP P. Sandosh Kumar raised concerns about the functioning of the Election Commission and its rejection of opposition proposals. He called for a parliamentary discussion on electoral reforms and the SIR process.

Congress MP Tanuj Punia emphasized the issue of fake voters being added during the SIR and promised that this would be a central focus for the opposition.

The central government, in an All-Party Meeting on Sunday, expressed its intention to listen to the opposition's concerns. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju encouraged a smooth and constructive session, hoping for productive debates and no disruptions. The session will include 15 sittings across 19 days, with Private Members' Bills and resolutions scheduled for December 5, 12, and 19.
