Durgapur, Oct 14: At a time the gang rape of an Odia MBBS girl in Durgapur in West Bengal has wreaked a shock wave across the nation, Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi on Tuesday met the survivor during her treatment.

Sarangi, along with a state-delegation from Odisha reached Durgapur, visited the hospital wherein the survivor, an MBBS 2nd year student, is receiving treatment, and assessed her ordeals. Meanwhile, Sarangi and his team reportedly faced vehement opposition from the security personnel, deployed in the hospital premises. However, he was later allowed to meet the victim in the ward after the intervention of the West Bengal BJP leaderships.

Worth mentioning, the Survivor who hails from Odisha’s Balasore and pursuing her MBBS studies in a private Medical College in Durgapur, was gang raped by at least 5 miscreants on Friday while she was out for dinner with one of her Odia friends.
