Bhubaneswar, May 19: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed key school education programs in Odisha, focusing on the state’s implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
In a meeting held in Bhubaneswar, top central and state education officials, including Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, discussed improvements in school infrastructure, curriculum alignment, teacher training, and digital learning.
Special emphasis was placed on expanding Shishu Vatika (pre-school sections), integrating schools from primary to higher secondary, and increasing access to residential schools.
The review also highlighted the state's implementation of the Chief Minister’s Poshan Scheme, aligned with PM Poshan, offering nutritious meals—including laddus and eggs—to students from pre-school to Class 10.
Pradhan praised Odisha’s door-to-door survey tracking children aged 0–18, calling it a model for other states. The review follows a recent national conference of education secretaries in New Delhi, where Odisha showcased its progress.
