Bhubaneswar, July 5: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday joined a mass tree plantation campaign in Odisha’s Deogarh district under the growing environmental movement ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
The campaign, which continues to gain widespread support across Odisha, aims to boost environmental awareness and increase green cover through community-led tree planting initiatives. It has witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, young people, and local institutions alike.
Speaking during the event, Dharmendra Pradhan expressed his appreciation for the public response. “The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative is receiving overwhelming support. Everywhere I go in Odisha, I see great excitement for this mission. Yesterday, I was in Angul, and today here in Deogarh, the spirit is equally high. This time, lakhs of trees are set to be planted in the district,” he said.
The drive is being executed jointly by the Odisha Forest and Environment Department and the local district administration.
