Sambalpur, August 28: Union Education Minister and local MP Dharmendra Pradhan celebrated the agrarian festival Nuakhai with fervour at Sindurpank village under Maneswar Block in Sambalpur district. Marking the occasion, Pradhan partook in the traditional Nabanna (newly harvested rice) at the residence of Shyamsundar Pati, a local resident.

Extending greetings to the people of Odisha, Pradhan described Nuakhai as a symbol of agricultural prosperity and a celebration of the state’s deep-rooted farming culture. “Nuakhai is not just a festival; it is an emotion that reflects unity, gratitude, and reverence for our farmers and their hard work,” he said.

The minister termed it a privilege to join the celebrations in the historic region of Sindurpank and share Nabanna with the host family. He highlighted the emotional and cultural significance of the day, noting that coming together to share the season’s first harvest is the true essence of Nuakhai.

Expressing joy over celebrating the festival in Sambalpur, Pradhan thanked the host family for their affection, hospitality, and warmth. He offered prayers to Maa Samaleswari, seeking her blessings for happiness, peace, prosperity, and success for all.
