Kendrapara, Feb 21: In another incident of cruelty towards girl, a STD VII girl in a Kendrapara-based school has been reportedly molested on the campus.

On the complaint of the victim’s mother, the Child Welfare Committee(CWC) has undertaken probe into the matter.

The incident took place in a private English medium school under the Rajkanika Police in Kendrapara district.

The incident came to light after the victim’s mother moved the CWC on Wednesday.

Acting on the complaint, the CWC team visited the school and began an investigation.

“We received the complaint on February 18 and launched an investigation as soon as possible”.

“We have recorded the statement of the survivor regarding his ordeal”, said Swagatika Patra, Chairman, CWC, Kendrapara.

Meanwhile, Rajkanika police also launched a parrallel inquiry in connection with the offence.

The police have reportedly quizzed at least three school officials including some teachers and a female assistant in this connection.

Who the offender is and what’s his precise misconduct, are yet under investigation.
