Australian deal brings popular health drinks and cricket star connections

In a strategic move to strengthen its position in the global market, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has officially announced its entry into Australia. The FMCG arm of Reliance Industries has acquired a majority stake in Goodness Group Global, a Sydney-based beverage company known for its focus on health and wellness.

This Reliance Consumer Products acquisition marks a significant milestone for the Indian conglomerate as it continues to diversify its portfolio beyond domestic borders. The deal hands Reliance control over a range of popular functional beverage brands, most notably Nexba and PACE.

For cricket fans in India and Odisha, the inclusion of the brand PACE is particularly noteworthy. The hydration drink was co-created with Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins, adding a touch of star power to the Reliance beverage lineup. Alongside PACE, the deal includes Nexba, a flagship brand famous for its gut-health beverages crafted with natural, sugar-free ingredients.

According to a press statement released on February 7, this partnership is not just about entering Australia. Reliance intends to leverage this acquisition to introduce Goodness Group’s premium products to new markets, including India. This means consumers here may soon see these health-focused, low-sugar drinks on local shelves.

Goodness Group currently operates in over 20 international markets, making it a strong asset for Reliance’s global ambitions. By securing this majority stake, Reliance creates a bridge to bring Australian innovation in "better-for-you" drinks to Indian consumers who are increasingly conscious about their health.

This move follows a pattern of steady international growth for Reliance. The company has already established its FMCG presence in neighboring regions including Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Middle East markets of UAE, Qatar, and Oman. Adding Australia to this list solidifies its intent to become a dominant player in the global packaged foods and beverage sector.
