Devastating Himalayan floods claim seven lives while destroying border settlements

Nine Armed Police Force personnel stationed at a remote border outpost in Timure remain completely unaccounted for following this sudden deluge.

Rescue teams from multiple national security agencies have mobilised aggressively to locate trapped survivors. Authorities quickly dispatched 14 helicopters to conduct critical search-and-rescue operations across the treacherous mountain terrain. By Wednesday afternoon, emergency workers had successfully pulled 25 stranded individuals to safety despite severe logistical hurdles caused by this Nepal flash flood.

Sudden Surge Overwhelms Border Communities

Without any local rainfall warning, the surging waters caught sleeping mountain communities entirely by surprise. Floodwaters heavily damaged bustling market areas, swept away vital transportation roads, and destroyed established border security installations. Local administrative officials noted that the skies over Rasuwa were completely clear, suggesting the deadly surge likely originated from a blocked river or sudden glacial lake outburst upstream in Tibet. This volatile border region frequently experiences violent hydrological events originating from the high Tibetan plateau.

Downstream Districts Receive Evacuation Orders

Because the raging water is advancing further into the country, government officials issued urgent safety alerts to vulnerable populations. Residents living along the riverbanks in five different districts, including Chitwan and Nuwakot, received strict instructions to evacuate immediately to higher ground.
