Bhubaneswar, November 14: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has on Friday hailed the BJP’s resounding victory in the Nuapada by-election as a clear mandate for progress and development. Expressing his gratitude to the people of Nuapada, Majhi acknowledged their decision to reject the opposition's misleading claims and false promises.
"The decisive win of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Nuapada by-election marks the beginning of a new era in Odisha's political landscape," Majhi stated. "This victory is a reflection of the people's unwavering faith in our government's policies, ideals, and welfare initiatives."
Congratulating the newly elected MLA Jay Dholakia, Majhi also thanked the BJP's state president, Manmohan Samal, as well as the party's ministers, MPs, and MLAs for their concerted efforts in ensuring the victory. He emphasized, "Under the leadership of Modi ji, development has become the defining agenda of our nation. Our government is fully committed to advancing the welfare of the people and furthering the growth of Odisha."
Majhi assured the people of Nuapada that the government is dedicated to their development and vowed to work toward making Nuapada, and Odisha as a whole, a prosperous region.
In the by-election, BJP candidate Jay Dholakia triumphed with an impressive 123,869 votes, while Congress’s Ghasiram Majhi secured the second spot with 40,121 votes. The BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria trailed in third place, garnering 38,408 votes.
