Bhawanipatna, June 6: Deputy Collector of Odisha’s Kalahandi district Chittaranjan Pilla was suspended on Friday for his alleged involvement in land scam.
The Additional Chief Secretary, following a departmental probe, put Pilla under suspension as he allegedly issued illegal RoR on leased out and government lands, while he was serving as the Additional Tehsildar in Bhubaneswar during 2020-22.
There were allegations against him over government land mutation, changing of the agricultural plots into ‘ghara bari’ (homestead) plots. He had allegedly reopened the disposed of cases and mutated them illegally.
The official is also reported to be under the scanner of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch in connection with alleged irregularities.
