Deputy CM Smt Pravati Parida whips up lending to SHGs at SHG Credit Linkage Cum Financial Literacy Camp organized by CANARA BANK at Nimapara
Canara Bank conducted a Mega SHG Credit Linkage cum Financial Literacy Camp at Nimapara, Puri district on 23.08.2024 in the august presence of Smt Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister, Govt of Odisha. More than 1000 women SHG members attended the camp.
Shri Jagdish Chander, General Manager and Canara Bank State Head, in his welcome address, reiterated the commitments of Canara Bank towards financing SHGs and women empowerment. He informed that the bank in the state has sanctioned a loan amount of Rs 75.00 crores to 500 SHGs during the campaign period.
Smt Pravati Parida, Deputy Chief Minister, Govt of Odisha appreciated the efforts of Canara Bank in organizing such Camp and financing SHGs. She urged the SHG members for timely repayment of the loan. She also narrated the steps initiated by Govt. for providing proper platform for marketing the products of SHGs.
Sri Dibakar Harichandan, Director on Board of Canara Bank informed the gathering that since inception in 1906, the Bank is consistently devoted towards upliftment of rural masses and called upon the SHGs to move forward for more income generating activities.
Smt Sumitra Pattanaik, Addl Secretary, Department of Mission Shakti also addressed the gathering and shared her valuable inputs in connection to SHG linkage.
Shri Mahamaya Prasad, AGM RO Bhubaneswar and other officials from Canara Bank, Officers from Govt. departments and representatives from Local Bodies participated in the event.
