Balasore, Jan 12: BDO of Simulia, Biswaranjan Mohanty who was found hanging in his official quarters, was under severe depression due to heavy work load, alleged his father, Narendra Mohanty on Friday.
While interacting with reporters, Mohanty with moist eyes said,“Biswaranjan had been into severe mental depression as he was not given leave despite heavy work pressure. He had joined his family only once during his tenure here as the BDO”
Responding to the allegation levelled by the deceased BDO’s family members, District Collector Balasore Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde said that Biswaranjan had never applied for any leave.
He was never found burdened while he attended a review meeting last week. He was absolutely normal on the occasion. However, an inquiry will be conducted to find whether he was under work pressure or not, the Collector added.
