Al-Falah University Denies 'Baseless' Reports Linking It to Faridabad Terror Module After Doctors' Arrest

Al-Falah University is at the center of a major national security scare after two of its doctors were detained in connection with the recently busted Faridabad terror module. The institution has forcefully broken its silence, issuing a strong denial of any involvement. The university called widespread reports linking it to the terror plot "baseless and defamatory," stating it had "no connection" to the individuals beyond their official employment.

The controversy ignited on Monday when authorities, acting on intelligence, busted the cell in Faridabad. The discovery was shocking: 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and other highly inflammable materials were found in two rented rooms. These rooms belonged to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a Kashmiri doctor employed at the Al-Falah Medical College.

Adding to the alarm, a deadly Krinkov assault rifle and live cartridges were found in a car. This vehicle was registered to another doctor, Dr. Shaheen, who has also been detained. Officials confirmed that Dr. Muzammil was actively using this car when the rifle was recovered.

The Widening Investigation

The Faridabad raid was not an isolated event. It was the culmination of a widening investigation that began with the arrest of another doctor, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was detained for allegedly putting up posters in Srinagar supporting the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. Information gathered during his interrogation led police directly to the massive explosives cache in Faridabad.

Investigators are now deeply concerned about what they are calling a "white-collar terror ecosystem." This case reveals a disturbing trend of highly educated professionals and students being radicalised. Officials believe this network is in direct contact with foreign handlers, including some operating from Pakistan, posing a sophisticated national security threat.

The web appears to be growing. Sources suggest another suspect, Mohammad Umar, also a doctor at the same medical college, was part of the same network. He is believed to have allegedly planned the Delhi blast link at the Red Fort with two associates, reportedly carrying out the attack alone after his accomplices were nabbed.

Focus on Dr. Shaheen

Meanwhile, an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team raided the Lucknow residence of Dr. Shaheen, seizing her employment records. Investigators suspect Dr. Shaheen's role was significant. She was allegedly tasked by handlers across the border to establish and lead a women's wing of the Masood Azhar-led Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in India. This group, known as Jamaat-ul-Momineen, is the terror outfit's female recruitment and operations network. She was reportedly using covert social media channels and local sympathisers to expand this network.

University's Strong Rebuttal

In its detailed statement, Al-Falah University sought to control the narrative and distance itself from the actions of the doctors arrested. Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Kaur Anand said, "We are deeply shocked and saddened by the unfortunate developments... Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected."

She confirmed the detentions but reiterated the university had "no connection with the said persons apart from them being working in their official capacities with the University."

The statement also strongly refuted any possibility of the explosives originating from the campus. "No such chemical or material, as is being alleged by certain platforms, is being used, stored, or handled within the university premises," it declared. The university clarified its labs are used "solely and exclusively" for the academic and training requirements of MBBS students and follow all mandated safety protocols.

The university condemned the "false and defamatory allegations," urging the media and public to verify facts before maligning its reputation. Reaffirming its patriotism, the statement concluded: "As a responsible institution, we stand in solidarity with the nation... The University is extending its full cooperation to the concerned investigating authorities."
