Bhubaneswar, November 23: A historic moment awaits Odisha as President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will address the State Legislative Assembly for the first time during the winter session, which begins on November 27. This marks the inaugural occasion that a sitting President will deliver an address to the members of the Odisha Assembly.

President Murmu is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport, where she will head directly to the Governor’s House for a brief rest. Following this, she is expected to reach the Assembly at 4:20 pm, with the address set to commence at 4:30 pm.

Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker, Surama Padhy, confirmed the event details and emphasized the significance of the occasion. She also noted that the address will be attended by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, opposition leaders, and all Assembly members.

President Murmu’s journey from being a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for nine years to holding the esteemed position of India’s President is a remarkable one and serves as an inspiration to many.

"President Droupadi Murmu’s address is a moment of immense pride for Odisha. Having served as an MLA and Cabinet Minister, her remarkable rise from the state Assembly to the highest office in the nation is a source of inspiration for all," Speaker Padhy remarked.

The event on November 27 is eagerly anticipated, and the Odisha Assembly looks forward to welcoming the President as she addresses the House for the very first time.
