Cuttack, Oct 26: A decomposed carcass of an elephant has been recovered in forest in Tigiria area of Cuttack district.
According to reports, the carcass was recovered near the Genapada Beat area on Sadupa road in Athagarh Forest Division on Thursday. Meanwhile a boar was also found dead near the elephant carcass.
However, the exact reason behind the death of elephant is yet to be ascertained. According to Forest Department personnel, it will be clear whether the elephant died due to illness or was hunted down by poachers only after it received its autopsy report.
