Puri, June 11: On the sacred occasion of Deba Snana Purnima, renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik unveiled a stunning sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra at Puri Beach.
This event, deeply rooted in spiritual tradition, marks the ceremonial bathing ritual known as Snana Yatra at the iconic Jagannath Temple.

The intricately detailed sculpture was accompanied by an artistic arrangement of 108 Kalash (sacred pots), symbolizing purity, devotion, and divine energy. The installation not only amplified the spiritual atmosphere but also captured the deep emotional and religious essence of the festival.
The display drew thousands of devotees, tourists, and art lovers, serving as a vibrant blend of tradition, creativity, and devotion. Visitors were seen paying homage and marveling at the craftsmanship, which beautifully narrated the sanctity of the occasion.
Dr. Arvind Padhee, IAS, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), visited the installation and lauded Pattnaik for his inspiring contribution. He praised the artist’s efforts in promoting Odisha’s cultural and spiritual heritage through his internationally acclaimed sand art.
