Puri, March 3: On the auspicious occasion of Dola Purnima, an overwhelming rush of devotees was witnessed at Shreekhetra as thousands gathered to celebrate the festival with religious fervor.

The movable idols of the deities — Dola Govinda, Sridevi and Bhudevi — were taken to the Dola Bedi, where they participated in the traditional playing of ‘fagu’ and ‘abir’ with devotees. Enthusiastic worshippers thronged the venue to take part in the sacred ritual and seek blessings.

However, a brief spell of chaos was reported during the entry of the deities to the Dola Bedi, as heavy crowd pressure led to pushing and jostling among devotees. In the commotion, a few women and some male devotees reportedly fell to the ground.

Security personnel and temple servitors immediately intervened and safely rescued those who had fallen. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or serious health issues were reported following the incident.

The festival concluded peacefully amid tight security arrangements and devotional enthusiasm.
