Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday carried out multiple raids in the High-Tech Group offices in connection with illegally acquired land & alleged money laundering.

According to reports, the ED sleuths, from West Bengal conducted its first raid on the office of Vigyan Bharati Charitable Trust (VBCT) at Sahid Nagar, linked to the Hi-Tech Group of institutions.

The raid is being conducted in connection with alleged land fraud involving Sahara India properties in the Berhampur town.

Complaints suggest that a piece of land linked to the Sahara India was illegally acquired by the Hi-Tech Group.

Searches are underway at five locations associated with the trust, including the Hi-Tech Medical College premises.

Comment from the Hi-Tech Medical College authorities & trustees of the Vigyan Bharati Charitable Trust are yet awaited.
