DA case: Irrigation division Asst. Engineer arrested by Vigilance

Berhampur, Sept 12: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Prasanna Kumar swain, Asst. Engineer of Irrigation division in Bhanjanagar after he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which he could not explain satisfactorily.
Worth noting, Vigilance officials conducted a raid on properties associated with the Engineer on Wednesday and unearthed assets worth crores connected to Swain and his family, including six multi-story buildings and five high-value plots, Deposits over Rs.23.94 Lakhs, Gold approx 200 grams, 2 two wheelers.
Swain failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for these assets, leading to his arrest. He will be produced in court today, said Vigilance sources.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No. 18 /2024 has been registered against Swain.
