Bhubaneswar, Aug 10: The Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA) would host the two-day state inter school TT championship at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack on August 12 and 13.
The championship will have two categories - Junior (up to class VIII) and Senior 9from class IX to XII) separately for both boys and girls. Students studying under any board can participate in the championship, stated OSTTA Secretary Rabindra Kumar Parida on Thursday.
In the team events, minimum two and maximum two players can take part. The winners of all categories would be rewarded with trophies, cash prizes and certificates, Parida added.
Apart from the two-day school level championship, Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack would also host another annual major TT tourney like previous years, the OSTTA Secretary informed.
Elaborating further about the event, he informed that the Young Generation Table Tennis Association (YGTTA) would host the three-day 28th YGTTA State Ranking TT Championship from August 14 to 16 at JN Indoor Stadium. The championship would be played have 12 separate singles categories for men and women.
Players from all districts, educational institutions and associations can take part in the three-day event. The YGTTA State Ranking TT Championship is approved by the OSTTA and performance of players in the championship is taken into account while seeding and selecting players for various categories to represent Odisha in national level events, Parida added.
