Cuttack, Sept 28: Nearly a month after 70 quintals of suspected fake paneer were seized from Link Road in Cuttack, the Health Department has filed an FIR against 11 people allegedly linked to the business.
The FIR was filed at Madhupatna Police Station. The 11 people include paneer traders and middlemen. They are all from the Niali area.
The FIR was filed after a report from a government laboratory in Haryana. The test report found that the paneer was adulterated. Detergent and maida were reportedly found in the samples.

Officials said the paneer seized during the raid was not pure and was adulterated.
However, traders who were found selling pure paneer during the raid were given a clean chit.
KMC Health Officer Dr Nrupendra Satapathy said that it would be wrong to say that all dairy traders in Niali are involved in adulteration.
