Cuttack, Oct 14: The Cuttack Baliyatra will commence from November 27. The festival will continue for a period of eight days, the district administration informed on Friday.
The first coordination meeting was held yesterday for smooth conduct of the historic maritime trade fair between officials of Cuttack Municipal Corporation, district administration and other stakeholders.
Efforts will be taken to make this year’s Baliyatra more attractive by making it visitor-friendly, safe and fun for everyone, said Cuttack mayor Subash Singh.
CDA chairman Anil Kumar Samal has proposed for undisrupted, safe and free electricity supply by the TPCODL for the fair.
Cuttack Collector Dr Bhabani Shankar Chayani stressed to increase ORMAS stalls to 400 this year and to place the fair in tourism list. Besides, he appealed the government to increase the financial aid for the fair.
Several issues were discussed at the meeting attended by additional chief secretary Satyabrata Sahu.
