Bhubaneswar, Sept 23: At a time when the 'custodial torture' of an Army Captain and his fiancée at Bharatpur police station in Bhubaneswar has created a buzz across the state, the Odisha government has ordered a judicial probe into it.
Meanwhile, Odisha DGP YB Khurania and Crime Branch ADG Arun Bothra met Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja in this connection.
They reportedly briefed Ahuja about the progress of the investigation, carried out by the CID, Odisha Crime Branch, assigned the probe of the high-profile case.
Worth mentioning, a Captain and his fiancée were allegedly assaulted by police in the Bharatpur police station on September 14 night while they sought the cop’s aid in intercepting some miscreants in a road rage incident.
Worth mentioning, the Army officer and his fiancée met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi here in the Lok Seva Bhavan today.
Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan were present during the meeting.
