Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: The Odisha Culture Department has invited applications for the 32nd, 33rd, and 34th Odisha State Film Awards. Applications have been invited for Odia films released in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Interested producers can apply for their original Odia movies by filling up entry forms and nomination letters along with the documents asked for on the Culture Department website.
The producers will have to send the necessary documents and a pen drive with having soft copy of the movie to the Culture department through post, speed post, or registered parcel.
Besides, the notification has said that in case of necessity, one award will be given for 2020 and 2021 as no remarkable Odia movies were produced in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Notably, the 31st Odisha State Film Awards were distributed at a ceremony organized at Utkal Mandap in Bhubaneswar in February this year that was held due to COVID-19.
Eminent producer Ghanashyam Mohapatra has been conferred the prestigious Jayadev Award, Odisha’s highest cine award, for the year 2019 for his lifetime achievement.
Nila Madhav Panda was felicitated with the ‘best director' award for ‘Kalira Atita’ which also bagged the ‘best film’ award.
Similarly, Pitobas Tripathy and Sibani Sarangi were felicitated with the ‘best actor’ and ‘best actress’ awards respectively.
