Sambalpur, February 16: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring (DISHA) Committee meeting and reviewed the progress of Central and State Government schemes and progress of various development projects here.

The session included detailed discussions with department officials.

“We discussed ways in resolving the basic issues of the people, implementing underground cabling to ensure uninterrupted power supply, effective execution of the ‘PM Surya Ghar’ scheme, and the development of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and the renovation of the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital,” Pradhan posted on ‘X’.

The Minister wrote, “Discussions were also held on strengthening the administrative and governance system in the district and accelerating public service delivery through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across all departments.”

“Emphasis was laid on promoting strawberry, coffee, and black pepper cultivation along with traditional farming, focusing on millet units, and expanding irrigation facilities. Our goal is to address the basic issues of the people of the district and transform Sambalpur into a modern and prosperous district,” Pradhan wrote.

The meeting was held to facilitate overall development of Sambalpur district in a timebound manner.

Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, IG (Northen Range) Himanshu Lal, Sambalpur Collector Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar and senior officials attended the meeting.
