Bangiriposi, June 24: A wave of grief swept through Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district following the demise of CRPF jawan Ramchandra Soren, a brave son of the soil who dedicated his life to serving the nation.
Ramchandra Soren, a native of Bangiriposi, was serving with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Musabani region of Jharkhand. According to sources, he had been battling a serious illness for the past few months. As his health condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Delhi for advanced medical treatment and was undergoing care at a hospital there. However, despite sustained medical efforts, he passed away on June 22 while under treatment.
His mortal remains were brought to his native village in Bangiriposi on Tuesday in a special vehicle. The arrival of the body plunged the entire region into mourning, with thousands of people gathering to pay their final respects to the departed jawan.
In the presence of CRPF personnel and local police officials, a grand funeral procession was taken out before the body was carried to the local cremation ground. The last rites were performed with full state honours, reflecting the nation’s gratitude for his service and sacrifice.
As a mark of respect, CRPF personnel presented a ceremonial Guard of Honour to the deceased jawan. All funeral rituals were conducted in accordance with tradition and official protocol.
The untimely demise of the dedicated security personnel has left his family, friends, and the people of Bangiriposi deeply saddened. His passing has created a sombre atmosphere across the region, with many remembering him as a courageous and committed servant of the nation.
