New Delhi, February 10: Precious metals saw a decline in futures trade on Tuesday as traders took profits, and the dollar remained strong. Silver dropped by 2% to Rs 2.57 lakh per kilogram, while gold fell to Rs 1.57 lakh per 10 grams amid modest global market gains.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver for March delivery declined by Rs 5,422, or 2.06%, settling at Rs 2,57,198 per kilogram. This followed a strong rally on Monday, where silver surged by Rs 12,728, or 5.09%, closing at Rs 2,62,620 per kilogram.

Similarly, gold futures also faced selling pressure. The April contract dropped by Rs 677, or 0.43%, to Rs 1,57,389 per 10 grams. In contrast, the previous session saw gold rising by Rs 2,615, or nearly 1.7%, to settle at Rs 1,58,066 per 10 grams.
