Jeypore, Feb 16: A massive fire broke out at a scrap godown near Vikram Dev University in Jeypore town, Odisha’s Koraput district, in the early hours of Monday, causing widespread panic in the area. The fire, which erupted around 3 am, rapidly spread through the godown, which stored a large quantity of plastic materials. The presence of plastic intensified the flames, complicating firefighting efforts.

Three fire service teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. After several hours of intense firefighting, the situation was brought under control.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation will be launched to determine the origin of the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. However, the extent of property damage has yet to be assessed.
