Bhubaneswar, October 8: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal around October 10, which could bring heavy rainfall to various parts of Odisha.

The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre reports that the system is expected to intensify gradually, affecting the state’s weather in the coming days.

The latest IMD bulletin indicates that widespread light to moderate showers are anticipated across Odisha between October 10 and 11. As a precaution, the IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for 20 districts on Wednesday, alerting residents to potential thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. These areas could experience rainfall, particularly in the evening and night hours.

Weather experts have noted that while the cyclonic circulation is still in its early stages, its movement and strength will determine whether a low-pressure area develops further.

Fishermen are advised to stay vigilant and follow official weather updates, as conditions over the Bay of Bengal may become rough in the coming days.
