Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: The Commissionerate of Police on Saturday chalked out a new strategy to get rid of loot from apartments.
Acting on a series of loots from the apartments situated in the outskirt of the Capital City, Commissioner of Police (CP) Sanjib Panda chaired a meeting in this connection wherein Police officers including the IICs and ACPs were asked to devote special attention to check organised loots from the residential colonies or apartments.
Apart from it, Panda urged the Co-operative societies, householders and occupants of the apartments to take adequate measures for surveillance in their locality, for their safety and security.
Worth mentioning, series of organised loots from Bhubaneswar-based apartments have emerged as a concern for the UPD. As many as 44 major loot cases from at least 30 apartment-establishments were registered with police during the last three months. However, the police have got no lead in any of the cases so far to reach at the gangs.
