COVID-19 situation well under control: Odisha Health Secretary

Bhubaneswar, May 31: Odisha Health Secretary Aswathy S stated on Saturday that authorities are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and holding regular review meetings, as the total number of cases in the country rose to 2,710. 

Kerala currently has the highest number of active cases.

Speaking about the situation in Odisha, the Health Secretary assured that it remains under control. "We have identified only seven positive cases so far. The first patient has already recovered. There is no immediate threat to the public. We are actively monitoring the situation, evaluating our preparedness, and conducting regular meetings to stay ahead," she said.

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 2,710 active COVID-19 cases to date. Of these, 1,170 patients have recovered and been discharged. The country has also reported seven deaths, with most involving individuals with underlying health conditions, as per state-wise reports.
