Bhubaneswar, March 11: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar will host National Conclave 2026: Advancing through NEP 2020, being organised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) on March 13–14.

The two-day conclave will bring together key stakeholders from the education ecosystem to deliberate on the nationwide rollout of the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) and the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM).

Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati will grace the inaugural session on March 13. This session will feature the keynote address by Prof. Pankaj Arora, Chairperson, NCTE, and an address by Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar.

The two-day conclave will focus on capacity building of stakeholders from the eastern states—Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, and West Bengal—to support the implementation of these flagship initiatives envisioned under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The conclave will include a series of technical sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on engagements focusing on the NPST digital portal, implementation strategies, and stakeholder onboarding. The second day will emphasize the vision, framework, and implementation of the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM), along with demonstrations of the NMM digital platform and interactive sessions for participants.

The event aims to facilitate dialogue among policymakers, teacher educators, institutional leaders, and administrators to strengthen teacher professional standards and mentoring systems across the country in alignment with the transformative goals of NEP 2020.
