Accompanied by his wife Dr. Priyanka Munda, CM Majhi offered Arghya (sacred offerings) to the Sun God and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Odisha Government is committed to strengthening the traditions of brotherhood, harmony, and cultural unity among all communities in the state. He described Chhath Puja as a beautiful example of this cultural integration.
“The Chhath festival teaches us that the true foundation of life lies in nature — in water, air, and the energy of the Sun. Through this festival, we express our gratitude to nature and the environment, drawing inspiration to live in harmony with it,” Majhi said.
Highlighting the simplicity and sanctity of the celebration, he added, “Chhath Puja stands out for its purity, discipline, and devotion. It is not about grandeur or display, but about faith, dedication, and cleanliness — values that form the very soul of this festival.”
The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the growing enthusiasm for Chhath Puja in Odisha, a festival traditionally celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. “It is heartening to see the people of Odisha now celebrating Chhath Puja with such devotion and joy,” he remarked.
Concluding his address, Majhi said, “May Odisha continue to move forward on the path of progress. May our farmers, workers, youth, and women grow stronger, and may every home be filled with light, happiness, and prosperity.”
