Bhubaneswar, Apr 3: Couple of hours after quitting BJP, senior leader Bhrugu Baxipatra today joined the ruling the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ahead of the Lok Sabha and Odisha Assembly polls. He was inducted into the party fold at the Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier today, he had resigned from the primary membership of the saffron party. He had tendered his resignation letter to State BJP President Manmohan Samal.
Notably, Baxipatra had contested the 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Berhampur Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket. However, he was defeated by BJD’s Chandra Sekhar Sahu.
