Cuttack, Jan 24: A youth in Odisha’s Cuttack district proved himself bolder than Jim Corbett of Kumaon, as he single-handedly killed a tiger following a fierce & overnight struggle with the big cat.

The boy who is a BTech student, identified as Subhranshu Bhol has been admitted to the hospital for resuscitation.

The unprecedented incident took place at a farmhouse in Anantprasad village under the Narsinghpur West Forest Range, Cuttak late at night on Friday.

According to report, Subhranshu was fast asleep at his outhouse situated beside a goatery farm. Meanwhile, his pet dogs barked. Anticipating something foul, Bhol opened the door to watch the situation. All of a sudden, a leopard lept on him and made him blood bathed. As he encountered to save himself, the big cat ate up one of his fingers.

With no way out, Bhol fought with the tiger for almost an hour.However, he could never save himself as the beast became more bloodmonger.To his good fortune, he could find a kitchen knife, as a savior what he used to eliminate the leopard after a frantic endeavor.

On being informed, Narasinghpur West Forest Range Officer with his team reached the spot and rushed the victim to the Narasinghpur CHC for resuscitation. He was later shifted to the SCB Medical College & Hospital, as his health deteriorated.

On the other hand, an animal rescuer team recovered the leopard carcass from the spot and sent it for medical examinations. Meanwhile, DFO Athgarh & RCCF, Angul took stock of the situation, visiting the scene on Saturday.
