Balasore, Sept 22: A tragic incident occurred early on Monday when a wall of a house collapsed while a family was sleeping, resulting in the death of a couple and the serious injury of their 12-year-old daughter.

The incident took place in Mahadev Sarai village under the Basta police station in Balasore district.

Reports suggest that Pitha Murmu, his wife Lakhmi Murmu, and their daughter were asleep when the wall suddenly gave way. Neighbors quickly rushed to the scene and managed to rescue the family, transporting them to Basta Hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared the couple dead upon arrival, while the daughter remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment for her injuries.
