Couple commits suicide by hanging in Odisha’s Nabarangpur

Umerkote, Aug 5: In a tragic incident, a couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves in Umerkote area of Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Tuesday.
The deceased couple has been identified as Sutam Bhatra (32) and his wife Phulmani Bhatra (27), residents of Sanabhimaguda village in Dhodra panchayat.
As per reports, the couple went to sleep last night after having dinner. However, their family member spotted Phulmani hanging inside the house and Sutam hanging from a tree near their house this morning and alerted the police.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and seized the bodies. Subsequently, they were sent for post-mortem.
The exact reason behind the deaths is yet to be ascertained.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
