Jharsuguda, Sept 18: District Collector of Odisha’s Jharsuguda, Aboli Sunil Naravane became media headlines on Monday following her decision to fetch new dresses for the destitute children living in Sishu Grihas, orphanages and children care &rehabilitation centres on the eve of the Community festival 'Nuakhai'.
The Collector placed orders for new dresses from grand malls, for the inmates of child-care & rehabilitation centres scattered across the district.
Sources said shopping malls here in the Jharsuguda and Belpahar Town were found over crowded today as at least 352 little champs thronged the garment counters to choose dresses of their own choices. The authorities of the orphanages and children homes helped them escort on the way to garment showrooms, for purchasing new clothes for one of the grand, annual occasions of Western Odisha. After hours-long marketing, the toddlers purchased their own pairs of dresses which they are offered to wear during the mass Nabarnna Sevan rituals on the Nuakhai.
While sharing happy moments with some of the children, Collector & District Magistrate Jharsuguda, Aboli Sunil Naravane said, “I will be over rejoiced to see the children wearing new dresses on the phenomenal occasion the 'Nuankhai', who are deprived of emotional bondage of parents, social care and essential privileges,”.
This meagre effort will add pleasure and bring smiles among the grooming boys and girls, she added.
However, she requested people to be always compassionate towards such child resources in assisting them in their sustainable growth and development.
