​​​​​​​Sindhekela, Oct 28: An unidentified body was found hanging from a palm tree near Sundhimunda–Malipada village in Gandharla panchayat under Sindhekela police limits in Bangomunda block of Odisha’s Balangir district.

According to sources, the body was in a decomposed state, emitting a foul smell. Local residents, who were passing through the area on their way to nearby fields, noticed the hanging body and immediately alerted others in the village.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. It remains unclear whether the incident is a case of suicide or murder.

Upon getting the information, Sindhekela police arrived at the scene and brought the body down. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
