Bhubaneswar, Nov 14: The Commissionerate Police on Friday initiated ‘Convoy Patrolling’ in the Capital City.
In a bid to deter anti-social activities and to ensure public safety more efficiently, the Commissionerate Police worked out the ‘Convoy Patrolling’ to serve the denizen’s need round the clock.
The massive patrolling effort, which involved the additional commissioners, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), and Inspectors-In-Charges (IICs) of police stations, aimed to intensify checking and blocking at various locations. This coordinated effort is part of a larger strategy to make the city crime-free than in the previous days.
Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh said, the new move of the ‘Convoy Patrolling, is an addition to the existing safety measures, which include regular blocking & checking and enforcements of Drunk and Drive with putting sharp eyes on the antisocial elements. This coordinated effort aims to prevent crimes, respond quickly to emergencies, and gather intelligence on potential crime hotspots.
