Convergence-2024 inaugurated at IBCS

Bhubaneswar, March 16: Learning is a never-ending process in life and students should keep sharpening their skills to stay relevant in a competitive world, Manoj Kumar Parida, former Chief Secretary in the Government of Puducherry, said.

The students should have enthusiasm, passion and a dream to achieve greatness if they wish to succeed, Parida said while addressing the inaugural program of ‘Convergence-2024’, the two-day annual B-School Meet and cultural extravaganza at the Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), faculty of management sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here, which began on Friday.

Parida, who inaugurated the event, shared several anecdotes from his experience while advising the students to always be prepared to embrace change.

Dr. Samir Kumar Samantaray, Deputy General Manager of NABARD, Bhubaneswar, who attended as the Guest of Honour, highlighted the importance of hard work and smart action. He stressed the significance of working with ethics.

Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Dean of IBCS and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare), faculty, staff members and students were present.

Prof. Samantaray spoke about the importance life skills to achieve both personal as well as professional success by sharing some important insights from his own experience. Prof. Das motivated the young audience to work hard to achieve greater heights in life. 

Coordinator of Convergence 2024, Prof. Sasmita Mohanty welcomed the guests while another Coordinator Dr. Ashish Mohanty proposed the vote of thanks.
