Bhubaneswar, April 8: A driver has been critical while working on the NH here in Bhubaneswar after a container hit a truck mount signal attainder vehicle on Monday.
The mishap took place on the NH 16 near Baramunda bus terminal in the afternoon.
Sources said, a number of daily wagers were busy on guard-wall painting work on the over bridge. A truck mount signal attainder vehicle was placed on the road for alerting the commuters, for the safety of the workers. Meanwhile, an Eicher Truck with container hit the signal mounting truck from its forefront. As a result, the operator of the vehicle sustained critical injuries.
Following the incident, hundreds of heavy vehicles were stalled on both sides of the road as the whole road was almost blocked.
Being informed, the Khandagiri Police rushed to the spot, rescued the driver and sent him to the capital hospital for treatment.
