Cuttack, Nov 9: Patients have alleged conspiracy behind lying defunct of two CT Scan machines of SCB Medical College and Hospital in the city.
The own CT Scan centre of SCB Hospital has remained closed and the CT Scan machine that was running in PPP mode has gone defunct for the last three days. It has raised many eyebrows.
Accident and other critical patients are suffering the most due to the defunct CT Scan machines.
According to reports, the private organisation that is running CT Scan machine in PPP mode is sending patients to a diagnostic centre at College Square. The patients are being sent to Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital after depositing Rs 1900 at the private diagnostic centre.
A complaint has been lodged before the SCB Hospital Administration in this regard on Monday.
Nirupama Routray (75) of Biridi area in Jagatsinghpur district consulted the neurology department on Tuesday and was advised for CT Scan. She registered at PPP mode CT Scan centre but the machine was defunct. She further came on Wednesday and an employee asked her to go to a diagnostic centre at the College Square. There she deposited Rs 1900 and later she was taken to Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital in ambulance for CT Scan. The centre is operating in PPP mode by the same organisation.
Subash Nayak of Jajpur district has also brought the same allegation. Nirupama's relatives have lodged a complaint in this regard before the SCB Hospital Administration.
SCB Hospital Administrative Officer Dr Abinash Rout said this type of activities could not be tolerated. Action will be taken after investigation into the allegation.
