Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: Odisha unit of Congress today released its manifesto ahead of general and assembly elections 2024 in presence of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Sarat Pattnaik, party’s state in-charge Ajoy Kumar and other state leaders in Bhubaneswar.
The Congress has pledged to address the backlog of work left behind during the 24-year tenure of the BJDand the nine-year rule of the BJP at the Centre. Upon releasing its manifesto, the Congress promised to enhance farmer support by offering a bonus in addition to the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 3000 per quintal of paddy, beside the waiver of agricultural loans.

Moreover, the Congress proposed a monthly pension of Rs 2000 for farmers and assured the provision of 200 units of free electricity for domestic consumers in the state. In its comprehensive manifesto, the party also outlined plans to generate employment opportunities for approximately 500,000 youths, with a promise of an unemployment allowance of Rs 3000 per month.
In addition, the Congress vowed to relieve Women Self Help Groups of their loans and make LPG cylinders accessible to every household at a subsidized rate of Rs 500. Moreover, the manifesto included a guarantee of free healthcare services up to Rs 15 lakh for both government employees and the general populace.

Beyond these promises, the Congress undertook to provide monthly allowances of Rs 2000 for old-age, widows, and differently-abled individuals, reflecting its dedication to comprehensive welfare initiatives.
