Bhubaneswar, August 25: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday criticised the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi for party’s alliance with the National Conference in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.
In a video message posted on social media platform X, Majhi said, "Rahul Gandhi should clarify his party's stance on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress party is blind for power." He further accused the Congress of creating "anarchy, disorder, instability, and enmity" in the country. He also stated that the Congress has endangered national security and sovereignty by partnering with "divisive and anti-national elements.
In order to protect their own interests in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, the Congress has joined hands with the National Conference run by the Abdullah family. Rahul Gandhi should clarify to the people about the promises made by the National Conference in its election manifesto, Majhi added.
NC patron Farooq Abdullah on Thursday announced in Srnagar that the National Conference and the Congress have formed an alliance to fight the forthcoming Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir together.
The announcement was made after Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
