Bhubaneswar, March,9 : The Congress Screening Committee, headed by senior leader Madhusudan Mistri, met in New Delhi today, where they deliberated on the selection of candidates for the upcoming elections in Odisha.
During this meeting, the committee meticulously reviewed the lists of aspirants vying for each seat. Their task was to identify the most promising contenders. The Screening Committee will recommend three prospective candidate names to the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). The CEC will then make the final decision regarding the party’s candidate for each seat in Odisha.

Notable leaders, including Odisha Congress In-charge Dr. Ajoy Kumar and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Sarat Pattanayak, Congress Legislature Party leader Narasingh Mishra participated in this meeting. Their insights and assessments will play a crucial role in shaping the party’s strategy for the upcoming elections.

Over 5,000 aspirants have submitted their applications for Congress ticket to contest in the upcoming election. Among these, more than 4,000 aspirants are eyeing on the 147 assembly seats.
