Bhubaneswar, February 19: Odisha's Mayurbhanj district has yielded a significant discovery of gold reserves, with an estimated 1462 kg identified, Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena informed the state assembly on Thursday.

The Geological Survey of India (GSI) conducted an extensive survey across various locations within the Bangiriposhi assembly constituency, which falls under the Mayurbhanj district.

In response to a query from MLA Sanjali Murmu, Minister Jena informed that the survey had uncovered gold deposits totaling 1462.73 kg.

Additionally, copper reserves amounting to 17.06 million tons were also found in the Madanashi-Kanjia region of the district, further enhancing the region's resource potential.Bottom of Form
